Also, I’m annoyed at Moffat for writing that episode, why even was that? I’m massively disappointed tbh, I knew they wouldn’t reveal his name and I’m glad they didn’t. But my friend had told me there was another doctor and I was like omg nO I don’t believe it and there is, WHY? And I was expecting…
I liked this ep way better than expected, but I expected nothing after this, let;s say not-very-good series. I loved all those Doctors, the plot wasn’t bad and I cheered at the Doctor kissing his wife. Yes, you non-believers, River is his wife!
I thought the explanation for Clara was clever and nicely plotted, but I found the whole ‘saving her’ pointless. It totally ruined her sacrifice.
And that last scene…. Well sorry I’m biased but the moment the Bad Doctor started to talk I thought they should have cast an actor with a way more impressive voice and a way more impressive look. I understand why they went for a well-known actor, but Allam, or Cumberbatch, and quite a few other great actors could have done that scene so much better. Bad casting.
Roger Allam as Demetrius in Titus Andronicus, Royal Shakespeare Company, 1981.
AKA young semi-naked Allam. Open new window for larger version and excuse me for drooling a bit.
Richard Fallon seriously needs a new therapist. Martha is shit. Five? years and he’s still no better! OR is she trying to keep him for herself?
Oh, I agree! I don’t think she’s done anything to actually help him. (Sorry, but I really don’t like her at all.). Any progress he has made (like the recent sort-of-bonding with his son), he has done himself.
Martha is the worst therapist ever.
Also, I want a semi-blind date with Mr. Fallon. I promise I will not eat to much and I won’t attack other guests in the restaurant or laugh at Mr. Fallon’s choice of clothes.
What if I made you Prime Minister, and I got to be the Next Doctor?
(Allam and Tennant in The Politician’s Husband. Gallery will be up tomorrow on All-Allam.com)
Friendly reminder:
Roger was on “How does that make you feel” Episode 1
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01sd3jx
He will be back in Episode 5 which airs on May 17th. (and maybe in the others too? Haven’t listened to them yet)
and he will also be on
“Will Smith’s Midlife Crisis Management” which starts next Tuesday
Yay!
I grinned, I laughed, and then I wanted to hug him and make it all better. Go and listen to Richard Fallon MP, who really is Peter Mannion in another universe.
As a fan, I wanted to kiss his fevered brow and croon soothing words into his ear before ravaging him. As a psychologist, I wanted to smack him upside his fool head. Dilemmas….
That about sums it up, yes.
But no matter how self-centered and foolish he is, I still love Richard Fallon. He really is Peter Mannion’s less capable twin. Such a tragic not-a-hero.
And I think they should make that ‘Follow the MP’s’ TV series into a real TV series, with Allam as Fallon. It would be hilarious!

I have just melted and am now a little pool of hormones.
(Roger Allam in Much Ado about Nothing (1990). We’ll thank the lovely sender of this and other pics properly when we put them on the website. But I just had to post this. The hair. The boots. The look. Did I mention the hair?)
The Endeavour pilot first aired 2 January 2012, and ITV commissioned series 1 on 12 March 2012. It took them 11 weeks to decide.
The last ep of S1 aired 5 May 2013. So, 11 weeks later, on 14 July 2013, they will finally tell us there will be a second series.
prayer circle, anyone?
Fingers crossed will do fine.
But it would be nice and a bit symbolic if Allam got another season of his cop show on Bastille Day.
Jodhi May is interviewed regarding her play, Blackbird. This interview also includes more dialog from the play that includes Roger Allam. [8:12]
Interview from 17 Feb 2006.
This originally appeared in one of the BBC radio shows to promote the play. Sorry I can’t remember which one. But it is a sample of the dialog in David Harrower’s play, Blackbird, that premiered at the 2005 Edinburgh festival and transfered to the Albery Theatre in early 2006. Jodhi May and Roger Allam originated the roles of Una and Peter/Ray.
